KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Samindo Resources Tbk (MYOH) has completed the process of acquiring shares of PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA) on November 30, 2023.
The acquisition, valued at approximately IDR 307 billion, has transferred a total of 1,117,548,000 TRJA shares previously owned by PT Damai Investama Sukses and PT MSJ Investama Abadi, equivalent to 74% of TRJA’s issued and fully paid-up capital, to Samindo Resources.
Corporate Secretary of PT Samindo Resources Tbk, Ahmad Zaki Natsir, revealed that TRJA is a company engaged in the rental of four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles, which are essential support transportation tools in mining activities.
In the national mining sector, TRJA, through more than 2,800 4WD vehicles, has been widely used by various renowned mining contractors in Indonesia, such as Pama Persada and BUMA, who have long been loyal customers of TRJA.
Not only in coal mining, but TRJA’s services have also expanded into the nickel, copper, and gold mining sectors.
“The acquisition of TRJA is the initial stage of a long journey in the company’s transformation process. There are numerous opportunities in the mining service sector that are attractive and promising for the future,” said Zaki in an official statement on Thursday (30/11).
Zaki explained that this acquisition further strengthens MYOH’s position as an integrated coal mining service provider in Indonesia.
Previously, MYOH had three main services in coal mining activities and one supporting service, namely overburden removal, coal production, coal transportation, and exploration drilling.
According to him, the inclusion of TRJA in MYOH will undoubtedly enhance competitiveness in the national mining service industry.
“This acquisition will also serve as a bridge for the company to delve deeper into opportunities in the mining sector beyond coal. Moreover, TRJA’s services are not limited to the coal sector but are used in almost all mining activities,” Zaki concluded.
