JAKARTA, investor.id – PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA) is currently in the process of obtaining three ISO certifications. These certifications include ISO 50001:2018 for Energy Management Systems, ISO 31000:2018 for Risk Management Guidelines, and ISO 26000:2018 for the International Standard on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Guidelines.
On April 6, 2023, the kick-off meeting marked the initial stage of the process of obtaining these three ISO certifications. During this kick-off meeting, the three ISO certifications were introduced to representatives from each department.
“There are several reasons behind the company’s pursuit of these three ISO certifications,” explained Corporate Secretary of Transkon Jaya, Alexander Syauta, in an official statement on Monday (22/5/2023).
The first certification, ISO 50001:2018 for Energy Management Systems, is driven by the company’s understanding of its operational activities, which have the potential to have negative impacts on the environment, such as greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, waste generation, and the use of energy and water resources that can affect the ecosystem’s balance and environmental support for life.
“So, with the possession of ISO 50001:2018 certification, the company is expected to have international standards for the systematic management of energy, enabling the company to contribute more to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the environmental and energy costs,” explained Alexander.
Next, ISO 31000:2018 for Risk Management Guidelines is motivated by the increasing scale of the company’s business. The company is planning various expansions and business transformations, and these goals are inevitably accompanied by risks.
“So, by implementing ISO 31000:2018, it is expected to help the company increase the likelihood of achieving its goals, enhance the identification of opportunities and threats, and effectively allocate and use resources for risk management,” he explained.
Lastly, the acquisition of ISO 26001:2018 for the International Standard on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Guidelines is driven by the increasing complexity and diversity of CSR programs conducted by the company. This complexity involves both internal and external parties participating in CSR programs.
“Seeing the potential increase in the complexity of CSR activities that are currently underway and planned for the future, the company feels the need for an international guide, in this case, ISO 26000:2018, which will help the company carry out CSR programs in a relevant and effective manner from planning, implementation, monitoring, to the evaluation of the programs implemented,” added Alexander.
He further stated that the company aims to obtain these three ISO certifications by the end of 2023, adding to the list of ISO certifications already held by PT Transkon Jaya Tbk. These include ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2016 for Environmental Management Systems, ISO 45001:2016 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (K3), and ISO 37001:2016 for Anti-Bribery Management Systems.
