Several vehicle rental companies are optimistic about achieving strong performance this year. PT Adi Sarana Armada Tbk is one such company aiming for a revenue growth of 10%-15% in its vehicle rental segment.
Prodjo Sunarjanto, President Director of Adi Sarana Armada, stated that the vehicle rental business is still robust this year. Amid the pandemic, many companies are refraining from expanding their vehicle fleets and are opting for rentals instead.
In 2021, ASSA plans to purchase around 4,000-5,000 new vehicles. This addition will bring the total fleet to approximately 27,000-28,000 units.
Similarly, PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA), which operates in operational mining vehicle rental, sees a brighter business outlook this year. Geraldine Simanjutak, Head of Investor Relations at TRJA, revealed that the company plans to add new fleets and has allocated a capital expenditure of IDR 100 billion.
“The addition of vehicles will focus on new types of products that the company will offer for rental services, namely light trucks and light buses. Therefore, we are currently focusing on allocating funds for the purchase of spare parts and accessories that are suitable for our vehicle types and mining location standards,” explained Geraldine.
She mentioned that light trucks and light buses are the latest types of rental services provided by Transkon Jaya, aligning with the successful tender acquisitions for infrastructure support vehicle projects.
Furthermore, Transkon Jaya has initiated the replacement of old vehicles for existing customers in the previous period. Previously, the company restrained costs for rejuvenating or replacing vehicles. TRJA currently owns more than 2,000 vehicles, with an addition of approximately 40 units each month.
