KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA) successfully recorded revenue of IDR 483 billion in 2022, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year’s IDR 402 billion in 2021. This revenue surge is attributed to the high demand for vehicle rentals.
Alexander Syauta, the Corporate Secretary of Transkon Jaya, revealed that, as a company engaged primarily in leasing light vehicles specifically for the mining area, they continued to receive demands for vehicles from both existing and new customers throughout 2022.
Transkon also consistently pursued its expansion into the eastern regions of Indonesia. This expansion was reflected in the increased number of company-operated vehicles across all operational points.
“This is proportional to the increase in assets, a consequence of the purchase of new vehicles to meet customer demands,” said Alexander in a press release on Thursday (6/4).
Transkon Jaya recorded assets worth IDR 873 billion, a 35% increase compared to the previous year. On the other hand, the purchase of new vehicles triggered an increase in debt, with TRJA recording a total debt of IDR 523 billion.
Throughout 2022, TRJA underwent numerous transformations and updates, leading to an increase in cost items. For instance, there was an increase in mining preparation costs (installation of safety accessories on vehicles) in line with the increased number of vehicles, the addition of workshops at various operational points, the addition of supporting office building facilities in Balikpapan, and the renovation of several representative offices.
“In addition, the increase in the number of employees throughout 2022 also added to operational costs,” said Alexander.
These cost increases contributed to a decrease in net profit in 2022. The company recorded a net profit of IDR 35 billion, a 20% decrease compared to the previous year.
He added that TRJA would continue its business expansion plans by expanding its coverage area and increasing the proportion of bus rentals in 2023.
“We will start expanding in the western regions of Indonesia, and of course, we will be more focused on reaching the nickel industry,” he concluded.
