IDXChannel – PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA), with its primary focus on Light Vehicle (LVP) rentals, is now expanding its business into Internet Service Provider (ISP) services, specifically providing Wireless Broadband Internet and other Information Technology (IT) services.
It is noted that TRJA’s ISP business, currently thriving in the city of Balikpapan, has experienced rapid growth. Transkon Net, now rebranded as PACNet, underwent this transformation in 2011.
PACNet has a significant presence in plantation areas with a relatively abundant ecosystem in Kalimantan. “For some customers, such as plantations, schools, or educational activities there, we have our internet installed. However, in plantations, our internet is already available,” said Head of Sales and Project at TRJA, Yogi Kurniawan.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for PACNet in Balikpapan was observed to increase by 20%. “During the pandemic, most of our orders were retail-oriented. There was an increase, but not too significant. Because within the city, there are quite a few competitors. And our focus is indeed on the corporate sector,” he explained.
For your information, PACNet has operational coverage spread across almost all regions in Kalimantan, such as East Kalimantan (Kaltim), North Kalimantan (Kaltara), South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), and even Papua. (*)
