JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Samindo Resources Tbk (MYOH) completed the acquisition of 74 percent of PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA) shares on November 30, 2023. Consequently, Samindo officially becomes the new controlling shareholder of Transkon Jaya.
Previously, 74 percent of Transkon Jaya shares were owned by PT Damai Investama Sukses and PT MSJ Investama Abadi. Samindo’s acquisition amounted to IDR 307 billion for a total of 1,117,548,000 shares of Transkon Jaya.
Transkon Jaya is a company engaged in the rental of four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles, which are essential support transportation tools in mining activities.
Currently, Transkon Jaya has 2,800 4WD vehicles distributed among various renowned mining contractors in Indonesia, such as Pama Persada and BUMA.
In addition to coal services, Transkon Jaya has also expanded into the nickel, copper, and gold mining sectors.
Corporate Secretary of Samindo Resources, Ahmad Zaki Natsir, stated that the acquisition of Transkon Jaya further strengthens Samindo’s position as an integrated coal mining service provider in Indonesia.
Previously, Samindo already had three main services in coal mining activities and one supporting service, namely overburden removal, coal production, coal transportation, and exploration drilling.
According to Zaki, the acquisition of Transkon Jaya is also the initial stage of Samindo’s long journey in the transformation process. There are numerous opportunities in the mining services sector with attractive potential for the future.
“This acquisition will also serve as a bridge for Samindo to delve deeper into opportunities in the mining sector beyond coal. Moreover, the services offered by Transkon Jaya are not limited to the coal sector but are used in almost all mining activities,” said Zaki in a press statement on Friday (12/1/2023).
For information, Samindo Resources is an investment holding company with core competencies in providing coal mining services, including overburden removal, coal getting, coal hauling, 4×4 vehicle rental, geological mapping, and drilling.
As an investment holding company, Samindo carries out these four production activities through its five subsidiaries, namely PT SIMS Jaya Kaltim, PT Trasindo Murni Perkasa, PT Samindo Utama Kaltim, PT Transkon Jaya Tbk, and PT Mintec Abadi.
