TRIBUNKALTIM.CO, BALIKPAPAN – Approaching Eid al-Fitr, the distribution of Eid Allowance (THR) for employees of several private companies has commenced. Quoting a statement from the Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, as reported on Kompas.com, the provision of Religious THR is an obligation that employers must fulfill for their workers/laborers, Saturday (24/4/21).
In connection with this, PT Transkon Jaya Tbk consistently provides THR to all its employees ahead of the Idul Fitri celebration. According to Article 2 of Ministerial Regulation No. 6/2016, employers are required to give Religious THR to workers who have been employed for 1 (one) month or more.
Referring to Circular Letter No. M/6/HK.04/IV/2021, THR for workers/laborers must be paid a maximum of seven (7) days before Eid al-Fitr. “If a company does not pay THR to workers/laborers according to the provisions set by the government, the company may face sanctions,” explained Ida Fauziah.
The rules regarding sanctions are stipulated in Government Regulation No. 26 of 2021 concerning Wages. These sanctions may include administrative penalties, up to the suspension or freezing of business activities, and are implemented gradually.
“On the other hand, for companies unable to pay THR according to the stipulations due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is requested to coordinate with the Governor or Regent to find an appropriate solution,” she added.
The payment of salaries and THR by PT Transkon Jaya Tbk has already been executed by April 23, 2021, warmly welcomed by all employees for the company’s initiative to provide THR to its employees without exception.
As the largest mining unit rental service company in East Kalimantan, PT Transkon Jaya Tbk also contributes to ensuring the welfare of employees during the festive season by providing THR. This practice has been in place since the establishment of the company and complies with government regulations.
This is not only a positive gesture for the employees who will be shopping for their needs during the festive season but also reflects the company’s commitment to its employees, even amid the economic challenges brought about by the pandemic, both nationally and globally.
The company hopes to continue providing THR to its employees, fostering a positive relationship between the company and its employees in welcoming the festive season each year.
