JAKARTA – PT Samindo Resources Tbk (MYOH), one of the integrated coal mining service providers in Indonesia, completed the acquisition process of PT Transkon Jaya Tbk (TRJA) shares on Thursday, November 30, 2023. The acquisition, valued at approximately IDR 307 billion, transferred a total of 1,117,548,000 TRJA shares previously owned by PT Damai Investama Sukses and PT MSJ Investama Abadi, equivalent to 74% of TRJA’s issued and fully paid-up capital.
Ahmad Zaki Natsir, the Corporate Secretary of Samindo Resources, stated that Transkon Jaya is a company engaged in the rental of 4WD vehicles, which are the main supporting transportation equipment in mining activities. TRJA itself is widely recognized in the national mining industry, with more than 2,800 of its 4WD vehicles distributed among various renowned mining contractors in Indonesia, including Pama Persada and BUMA, which have long been loyal customers of TRJA.
“Not only in coal mines, but TRJA’s services have also expanded to the nickel, copper, and gold mining sectors,” said Zaki in a press release received by Dunia Energi on Friday (12/1/2023).
According to Zaki, this acquisition further strengthens Samindo’s position as an integrated coal mining service provider in Indonesia. Previously, the company had three main services in coal mining activities and one supporting service, namely overburden removal, coal production, coal hauling, and exploration drilling. The inclusion of TRJA as part of the company will undoubtedly enhance the company’s competitiveness in the national mining service industry.
He emphasized that the TRJA acquisition is the initial stage of Samindo’s long journey in the transformation process. There are numerous attractive opportunities and potentials in the mining service sector for the future.
“This acquisition will also serve as a bridge for the company to explore opportunities in mining sectors other than coal. Moreover, TRJA’s services are not confined to the coal sector but are utilized in almost all mining activities,” added Zaki.
Samindo Resources is an investment holding company with core competencies in providing coal mining services, including overburden removal, coal production, coal hauling, 4×4 vehicle rental, geological mapping, and drilling.
